Rekha was born on 10 October 1954. Her full name is Rekha Ganesan. She is a versatile actress and one of the finest actresses in Bollywood.
Rekha was very different than her contemporary. She was very romantic, sexy and good looking actress. Every time she came out with short cloths, her movie became a super hit. She was very adorable actress for her contemporary directors. Ladies of her time were jealous for her unparalleled charms.
In 1966 as a child actress she started her career. She first acted in a Telugu film called Rangula Ratnam. After four years she came out as a lead role in the film called Sawan Bhadon.
In her 40 years acting career Rekha acted over 180 films. She acted in commercial movies as well as Indian Paralled cinema.
She got the National Film Award for the category of Best Actress by acting in the movie Umrao Jaan. For the movies Khubsoorat (1980), and Khoon Bhari Maang (1988) she won the Filmfare Awards as a Best Actress. As a supporting role in the movie called Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi (1996) she won the Filmfare Award as well.
Government of India honored Rekha with the Padma Shri in 2010. In her entire career she had ups and downs. But she never gave up. She came back numerous times and showed her ability to sustain in the industry. She is an icon to many successful actress. The way she still keeping her beauty is appreciated and followed by today's actress as well. She is still working for keeping shape well. She looks beautiful in white saree and Red bindi.
